An year passed since the release of "A Matter Of Life And Death". The Album won a lot of awards . An the most important -Classic Rock Magazine's - Best Album of 2006. The Fans separated on two camps. Half of them think that the album is a masterpiece , and the others didn't like the progressive sound in it and labeled AMOLAD as the weakest Iron Maiden album so far.
So what are your impressions from the album? Did it it catch you from the first? And did your opinion changed during the last year?

I think it's a modern classic. I've listened to it almost every day since it came out and I'm still hearing new things every time. I don't think I'll ever take the CD out of my car, it's perfect driving music. I'm a little shocked some 'fans' don't care for it... what do they want the band to do? Copy and paste Powerslave over and over for every new album?

From the first time I heard AMOLAD I thought that it was probably the best I heard from Maiden. Now, more than one year later, after I listened to many other things, I think that it is even better.
The album is very "epic" if I may say so. It also is a little bit slower and longer than most Maiden albums, and this is why probably some people don't like it.
Maiden evolve. I think their music now is much more mature than it was with Number of the Beast. That is why, I don't even compare their last 3 albums with albums from the early eighties.
