May 16 th marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Iron Maiden's iconic 4th album, Piece Of Mind. The songs for which were composed and recorded only a few months after the release of "The Number Of The Beast".

“We felt like we were on a high, and you can hear that mood on the album. Most of all though, it was just the songs. Between us, I thought we’d really come up with the goods this time.”

- Steve Harris

Piece of Mind also marks the debut for Nicko McBrain with the band and what would become the iconic Iron Maiden line-up.

The Bulgarian Iron Maiden fan club will honor the 40th anniversary with a special concert by the tribute band RAISING HELL. The event will be on April 8 (Saturday) in the capital's Live & Loud club. The boys from RAISING HELL have prepared over a two-hour “best of” set, including the entire "Piece Of Mind" album . The start of the event is at 21:00, and the entrance will cost BGN 10.

This morning we woke up with a message that our Facebook page has been removed.

Without warning, without any explanation, our page no longer exists.

Almost 13 years and over 6.5k followers...

The only message we see is that our page does NOT violate Facebook Community Standards and at the same time it is blocked for Violation of Facebook Community Standards!. (WHAT?!)

page-message.png

We have submitted an objection and are currently awaiting the decision.

To be honest, we don't have high expectations, and if our page is closed for good, we most likely won't create a new one.

For all 15 years as a fan club, we have been honest and followed the rules We did everything for the sake of our favorite band. The Facebook page was just a way for us to be closer to each other. And apparently this violates Facebook's community standards.

Fortunately, months ago we resurrected our forum and along with the website will remain the places where we will be active.

Royal Mail today reveals images of 12 new Special Stamps celebrating one of the most legendary rock bands of all time, Iron Maiden.

The main stamp set celebrates Iron Maiden’s live performances, featuring a selection of photos from their world-wide tours across the years, internationally and at home - and feature all current members of the band.

stamps 1000 811

Images range from the 1980s until 2018 and show:

- Steve Harris in Vancouver, June 2010
- Bruce Dickinson at Hammersmith, Odeon, London, May 1983
- Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Steve Harris in Pamplona, September 1988
- Nicko McBrain in Quito, March 2009
- Dave Murray, Bruce Dickinson and Janick Gers in Rio de Janeiro, January 2001
- Adrian Smith and Steve Harris in Helsinki, May 2018
- Iron Maiden at Twickenham Stadium, London, July 2008
- Bruce Dickinson sword fighting with Eddie in Birmingham, August 2018

A further four stamps pay homage to the band’s long-serving mascot and pop-cultural icon in his own right, Eddie, with his own miniature sheet. The stamps show four notorious Eddie artworks, including the latest addition featuring

Eddie as a samurai warrior from the recent Senjutsu album.

minisheet 1000

Shown on the stamps are:
- ‘Iron Maiden’ Eddie: The stare that started it all. Born in 1980 – on the cover of the band’s debut album
- ‘The Trooper’ Eddie: The unforgettable artwork for one of Iron Maiden’s greatest hit singles and, more recently, the logo for their award-winning beer
- ‘Aces High’ Eddie: Reimagined as a fighter pilot for a song honouring the RAF servicemen who defended Britain during the Second World War
- ‘Senjutsu’ Eddie: Samurais, feudal Japan and flashing blades inspired this katana-wielding warrior, from the band’s most recent album

The backdrop of the miniature sheet is taken from Iron Maiden’s first official live album, Live After Death (1985).

Founded in east London in the mid-1970s by songwriter and bassist Steve Harris, Iron Maiden’s decades-spanning career has made them one of the most revered and influential bands of all time. With over 100 million record sales, almost 2,500 live performances across 64 countries and 17 studio albums – including their latest, Senjutsu, released in 2021 – Iron Maiden have remained fearlessly creative and dedicated to their legions of fans for almost half a century.

Iron Maiden founder member and bassist, Steve Harris comments: “We were all absolutely astounded – in a good way! - when we heard first about the commemorative project, and equally pretty much speechless when we saw the stamps for the very first time. They look superb and I think they really capture the essence and energy of Maiden. We’re all very proud that Royal Mail has chosen to honour the band’s legacy like this and we know our fans will feel the same way,”

Iron Maiden manager, Rod Smallwood adds: “As a band who have never played by anyone else’s rules for over 40 years, it’s very gratifying to see them honoured in their home country in this way. We’re proud to show how these six band members are still appealing to more and more fans every year with their music and their legendary shows - which I think these stamps really capture well. It’s also fantastic that Eddie has been honoured too – it’s incredible to think that Her Majesty, may she rest in peace, saw these and lent her iconic silhouette to them too.”

David Gold, Director of External Public Affairs & Policy, Royal Mail, said: “Few bands in the history of rock music can be called bona fide rock legends – but Iron Maiden are just that – and more. With legions of devoted fans of all ages and from every corner of the globe, not only have they changed the way rock music sounds, but they have also changed the way it looks. We fully expect their fans will love these stamps as much as we do.”

Royal Mail collaborated closely with the band members and Phantom Music Management Ltd on the stamp issue.

The band will be back on the road in 2023 with their brand new, The Future Past tour, with dates across the UK and Europe.

The stamps are available to pre-order from today (5 January) at www.royalmail.com/ironmaiden and by phone on 03457 641 641.

The stamps go on general sale from 12 January 2023 with a Presentation Pack containing all 12 stamps priced at £17.70.

Iron Maiden will be bringing a new tour to Europe in the Summer of 2023 including arena shows in the UK & Ireland. The Future Past Tour will feature previously unperformed songs from the band’s most recent studio album, Senjutsu along with a focus on 1986’s iconic Somewhere In Time record, plus other classic cuts.

Steve Harris says,
“Following the release of our latest album, Senjutsu, we updated the current Legacy of the Beast Tour a little by opening the show with the first 3 songs from it, with the Japanese Palace stage set. As it doesn’t make a lot of sense to repeat this for a Senjutsu album tour, we thought about other options and we’ve decided to revisit Somewhere In Time as that tour didn’t feature in the various retrospective history tours we’ve played over the years. They were based on our 80’s concert videos and sadly we did not film that tour (blame the manager!!). We have had lots of requests from fans over the years for many tracks on it so we are now going to play them, plus of course a few others we know you will like! It will also be particularly satisfying to finally get to play some of the more epic tracks on Senjutsu, it's been a long wait! 2023 is going to be an exciting time and we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone again in the UK, Ireland and around Europe”.

Manager, Rod Smallwood adds,
“This combination of the two albums we feel is very exciting. We know fans want to hear those epic cuts on Senjutsu for the first time live and we think that by combining it with an iconic album like Somewhere In Time it will make for another really special tour for fans old and new! Of course, for a new album tour in Europe and the UK we will go back largely to the relative intimacy of arenas and we know fans will be very happy about that too!”

The Bulgarian IRON MAIDEN fan club will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a concert of the Bulgarian tribute band RAISING HELL. The band has prepared a completely new setlist, and this time the emphasis will be on the newer songs of IRON MAIDEN. The event will be on October 15 at Club Live & Loud. Doors: 21:00, entrance BGN 10.

Warner Music (BMG for the USA) are delighted to announce the release of a commemorative triple black vinyl album in honour of the 40th Anniversary of IRON MAIDEN’s seminal third album, The Number Of The Beast, which was also the first to feature Bruce Dickinson on vocals and was to become the record which catapulted the band to international stardom. Included in the new vinyl package is Beast Over Hammersmith - available now officially for the very first time on vinyl - featuring the live concert from March 1982’s now legendary Hammersmith Odeon London show from the Beast On The Road World Tour. Recorded only days before the release of The Number Of The Beast album, its remarkable to think these now classic songs at that time were still brand new, unfamiliar and being heard live by fans for the very first time. A real piece of history in the making.

The tracklisting is:

Disc 1 – The Number Of The Beast
Side 1:

  1. Invaders
  2. Children Of The Damned
  3. The Prisoner
  4. 22 Acacia Avenue

Side 2:

  1. The Number Of The Beast
  2. Run To The Hills
  3. Total Eclipse*
  4. Hallowed Be Thy Name

*alternative tracklisting to original TNOTB vinyl release. Total Eclipse replaces Gangland

Disc 2 – Beast Over Hammersmith
Side 3:

  1. Murders In The Rue Morgue
  2. Wrathchild
  3. Run To The Hills
  4. Children of The Damned
  5. The Number Of The Beast

Side 4:

  1. Another Life
  2. Killers
  3. 22 Acacia Avenue
  4. Total Eclipse
  5. Transylvania

Disc 3 – Beast Over Hammersmith
Side 5:

  1. The Prisoner
  2. Hallowed Be Thy Name
  3. Phantom Of The Opera
  4. Iron Maiden

Side 6:

  1. Sanctuary
  2. Drifter
  3. Running Free
  4. Prowler

The package features exclusive liner notes written by Maiden founder and bassist Steve Harris as well as restored and expanded artwork taken from the CD format of Beast Over Hammersmith, previously only available in the Limited Edition Eddie’s Archive boxset originally released in 2002.

Steve Harris comments,

“On this vinyl release we get the chance to put Total Eclipse in its rightful spot on the album for the first time. The reason it didn’t make it in the first place was that it was all a mad rush when we were finishing the record and we had to get the Run to the Hills single out before the tour and we basically had to pick a B-side and it was between Gangland and Total Eclipse and we just picked the wrong one, really! I think Total Eclipse is a stronger song and the album would have been stronger if it had been on there.”

It’s been 6 years since we decided to shut down our forums. It was a hard decision because it was a place where it all begun. The main reason for this decision was the existence of all social media channels and Facebook in particular where most of the discussion were happening. The forum was basically dead before we switched it off. In recent years, however, there is a tendency for specialized forum discussions to be popular again. Facebook’s policy for banning pages groups and users for no reason is a major factor for that.

So.. Our forum is back online! We don’t care how much activity will be there, as it’s our own place!

IRON MAIDEN have added six more European dates to their Legacy Of The Beast 2022 Tour, including Arena Armeec, Sofia on 13 July. Tickets go on sale 6 December at 10am at ticketstation.bg. As always there will be an exclusive pre-sale for Iron Maiden fan club members. Special Guests at the Bulgarian show will be Lord Of The Lost.

The 2022 show will also include some songs from Maiden’s new studio album Senjutsu - which debuted at #1 in Bulgaria - being played live for the first time.

Iron Maiden Manager Rod Smallwood comments:
“Next summer we will finally get to play the huge European stadium tour for Legacy of the Beast originally set for 2020 and since moved twice! We are delighted to be able to add shows in some of the great cities of eastern Europe, including in the Ukraine where we have never played. We’ll be making a couple of changes to the production and setlist to include some songs from our new album Senjutsu and are making the 2022 version of Legacy Of The Beast even more exciting and spectacular than the acclaimed original show , but you can be sure that we will still be featuring all the “hits” and the key elements of the original tour like the Spitfire, Icarus, Hell, flamethrowers and pyro and the rest! But we will shake it up a bit and Trooper Eddie will have serious competition in a new Senjutsu “world” we are adding.”

Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson adds,
“We’re really looking forward to our return to Europe next year and its terrific that we are now able to add Sofia and the other shows in eastern Europe, great cities and great fans. I’m excited about the new additions to the stage production and we can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve got planned. ‘Stratego' is the second track from Maiden’s long-awaited, 17th studio album, Senjutsu which is being released globally on September 3rd.

It’s one of two songs on the 10 track, 82 minutes long album written by guitarist Janick Gers and founder member/ bassist Steve Harris.

Recorded back in 2019 again at Guillaume Tell studios in Paris, the track was produced by Kevin ‘Caveman’ Shirley & co-produced by Steve Harris.

'Stratego' is available to stream now on your favourite streaming platform.

We are thrilled to announce the release of IRON MAIDEN’s 17th studio album Senjutsu on September 3rd through Parlophone Records (BMG in the USA). It was recorded in Paris with longstanding producer Kevin Shirley and co-produced by Steve Harris.

senjutsu im17

For Senjutsu – loosely translated as ‘tactics & strategy’, the band once again enlisted the services of Mark Wilkinson to create the spectacular Samurai themed cover artwork, based on an idea by Steve Harris. And with a running time of a little under 82 minutes, Senjutsu, like their previous record The Book Of Souls, will be a double CD album/triple vinyl album.

Steve says "We chose to record at Guillaume Tell Studio in France again as the place has such a relaxed vibe. The setup there is perfect for our needs; the building used to be a cinema and has a really high ceiling so there’s a great acoustic sound. We recorded this album in the same way we did The Book Of Souls in that we’d write a song, rehearse it and then put it down together straight away while it was all fresh in our minds. There’s some very complex songs on this album which took a lot of hard work to get them exactly as we wanted them to sound, so the process was at times very challenging, but Kevin is great at capturing the essence of the band and I think it was worth the effort! I’m very proud of the result and can’t wait for fans to hear it."

Bruce Dickinson continues, "We’re all really excited about this album. We recorded it back in early 2019 during a break in the Legacy tour so we could maximize our touring yet still have a long set up period before release to prepare great album art and something special as a video. Of course the pandemic delayed things more - so much for the best laid plans – or should that be ‘strategies’!? The songs are very varied, and some of them are quite long. There’s also one or two songs which sound pretty different to our usual style, and I think Maiden fans will be surprised - in a good way, I hope!"

The full tracklisting is:

1. Senjutsu (Smith/Harris) 8:20
2. Stratego (Gers/Harris) 4:59
3. The Writing On The Wall (Smith/Dickinson) 6:13
4. Lost In A Lost World (Harris) 9:31
5. Days Of Future Past (Smith/Dickinson) 4:03
6. The Time Machine (Gers/Harris) 7:09

8. Death Of The Celts (Harris) 10:20

IRON MAIDEN revealed their brand-new track, The Writing On The Wall, with an eagerly anticipated global YouTube video premiere. The song was written by Adrian Smith & Bruce Dickinson, produced by Kevin Shirley and co-produced by Steve Harris.

Bruce Dickinson initially had a concept for the video which came to fruition in collaboration with two Award-winning former Pixar executives and long-standing Maiden fans Mark Andrews & Andrew Gordon. With partners lining up to get involved with the project they chose BlinkInk, a London based animation studio.

In BlinkInk director Nicos Livesey, another long-time Maiden fan & kindred spirit, they found a man who shared the collective vision for the track – resulting in the final film which features the very first glimpse of a stunning new incarnation of Eddie.

Bruce comments: “I had a pretty clear idea of the concept to accompany the song and when I met Mark and Andrew, on Zoom, it quickly became clear we were all very much on the same wavelength, and this was reinforced with the addition of Nicos and his young BlinkInk team. Our weekly team Zoom meetings were then usually both highly creative and a lot of fun!

I’m very proud of the way the video turned out, it’s more like a mini-film really. I knew it was going to work out as soon as Mark brought my treatment to life with his incredible storyboards - I thought we could make something very special together. I think we did and hope our fans will agree. In fact it it’s pretty much created by Maiden fans!! ”

Director, Nicos Livesey takes up the story: “We quickly found the expertise we wanted, and people were literally throwing themselves at me to work on a Maiden video – we had more than 60 people in 13 countries from Brazil to France, & Romania to the USA to add something to the clip and I’d say their love, passion and understanding of the band shines through every frame.”

Iron Maiden have teamed up with BrewDog for a new lager, Hellcat.

The “feisty” new 6% ABV India Pale Lager will be brewed in Columbus, Ohio, and is going to be exclusively available in America online and via select retailers later in the year.

“I’ve been looking for the perfect partner with whom to bring a fresh, exciting beer to the U.S.,”  Bruce Dickinson tells American Craft Beer. “I’ve long been an admirer of BrewDog, not just because of their beers, but also of their attitude and style. When I met the BrewDog team, we discovered the respect is mutual, and that we could make an undeniably unique beer together.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with a world-renowned rock band like Iron Maiden,” adds James Watt, CEO and Co-Founder of BrewDog. “Iron Maiden, like BrewDog, have maintained their spirit of independence throughout their stellar career. Hellcat is a hop-forward lager with a golden hazy appearance and crisp finish – an epic beer worthy of this massive collaboration.”

Hellcat is said to have “a citrus-forward flavour” with “an epically complex balance of malts and hops”

Iron Maiden & West Ham build on their successful collaboration with the launch of a new 'Away Shirt' & Training Range

maidenwh900

Die With Your Boots On is the name of the successful collaboration that launched back in 2019 between Iron Maiden and West Ham United. With thousands of home shirts sold, there was huge appetite from West Ham & Steve to extend the range for fans around the world to enjoy in both football and music. The new West Ham/Iron Maiden away shirt (worn by West Ham attacking midfielder Saïd Benrahma & Steve Harris above) is accompanied with a new West Ham/Iron Maiden training jacket and a new range of Iron Maiden training wear.

Harris has been flying the flag for West Ham on stage for decades, with his bass guitar even featuring the club’s iconic logo. His love for the Hammers goes back to 1965 and many Maiden fans around the world have embraced Harris’ passion for West Ham and taken up support for the club themselves, often appearing at concerts in Hammers apparel.
Harris was not going to turn down the opportunity to extend the range beyond the success of the original home shirt design, “It was incredible to see the number of Iron Maiden & West Ham fans that picked up the initial home shirt. With West Ham doing so well in the Premier League right now, it feels like a nice time to put out this ‘away’ shirt. I’m so happy to carry the Maiden/West Ham partnership further… who knows, it might bring us luck for a Champions league place, you never know! COYI!”

maidenwh 2 900

Tracey Stratton, Licensing Manager at West Ham, speaks of how popular the Maiden collaboration was with the West Ham fans when it launched back in 2019. “We’ve had a phenomenal response to our first shirt collaboration with Iron Maiden, selling out repeat orders several times. The fans’ reactions were amazing with huge engagement on social media. We are now excited to release the ‘away’ shirt as a first run exclusive online at www.officialwesthamstore.com, with further styles to follow as we continue this highly successful partnership. Come on you Irons!!”

We regret to announce that the IRON MAIDEN 2021 June & July dates on the Legacy Of The Beast Tour have been postponed due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on global live events and travel. The Legacy Of The Beast European Tour will now take place in the Summer of 2022 on the dates below. All tickets remain valid. Please note:

  • The German Stuttgart 2022 show will now take place at the Cannstatter Wasen, not the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which is not available due to stadium reconstruction works. Tickets remain valid and ticket-holders will be notified by the local promoter/ticketing agency in due course.
  • The Swiss show has reverted to Zurich Hallenstadion as was originally planned for 2020, as this venue is now available again for 2022. Therefore, there will be no rescheduled show for Basel St Jakobshalle (which never went onsale this year).
  • Zurich along with Frankfurt, Arnhem and Belsonic will go on sale imminently – details below

legacy of the beast2022

The postponement of the Legacy Of The Beast Tour does however bring the good news that Maiden can now return to headlining the European festival dates initially planned for 2020 which were cancelled due to the pandemic. This includes Graspop in Belgium so therefore the own-show date in Antwerp (which had also not gone onsale) will no longer take place. Furthermore, we are in the process of finalising a further couple of own-shows in other European territories and will update you about those as soon as they are confirmed.

Confirmed supports for all own-shows can be found on the Tour date page. Where possible these will remain the same as announced for this year.

Iron Maiden return to Rock In Rio to headline the prestigious opening day of the 2021 Festival on Friday September 24th.

Bruce Dickinson says:

“When we were offered the chance to return to Rock in Rio and play the opening night next year of course we all said yes immediately. Maiden fans know that this festival is very special to us because of our long, shared history together. The Rio vibe is unique and the passion from the crowd never short of electrifying. Last year’s Legacy tour was so much fun, you’ll just have to wait and see what we have planned for next time…. All I will say is - as long as you want us (and Eddie), we’re going to keep coming back to see you Brazil!”
