Iron Maiden, the iconic metal band whose skeletal mascot, Eddie, adorned the denim jackets of scary older kids in the 80s, will be the subject of Stern Pinball Inc.’s next pinball machine. In the first images of the Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast pinball machine revealed today, Iron Maiden’s trademark fantasy metal aesthetic (pyramids, ghouls, demonic forces) appears to be the perfect match for a pinball machine.

Iron Maiden is the latest in a series of rock ‘n’ roll and metal-themed machines from Stern, who previously released AC/DC, Metallica, KISS, and Aerosmith over the past decade. With original *extremely metal* art from rock poster artist Jeremy Packer, a.k.a. Zombie Yeti, who kicked off his pinball art career recently with Ghostbusters, and game design from world champion player Keith Elwin, new to pinball game design entirely, Iron Maiden represents fresh, new talent in an industry that is experiencing rapid growth.
Stern’s official description of Iron Maiden indicates that players will embody Eddie himself: “Players will immerse themselves in an interactive Iron Maiden universe transforming into various forms of Eddie, the band’s legendary mascot. Players, as Eddie, will embark on a quest to defeat the Beast and his minions across the Legacy of the Beast mobile game and comic book world.” This quest is not only conveyed by ramps and pop bumpers, but also by the LCD screen mounted on the backglass which, Stern’s Marketing Director Zach Sharpe tells IGN, will feature “Custom animation revolving around Eddie as he battles the beast. In the game, depending on the multiball or modes you are playing in, there are different variations of ‘Eddie’ to match up with the Iron Maiden song, tying the whole universe together.”

As has become standard for all pinball machines this century, there are several models of Iron Maiden to choose from. All models come with the following features:
- Four flippers; two on the upper playfield for some cool-looking loop shots.
- Metal and wireform ramps (not plastic!).
- Center bullseye target with a ramp that launches the ball right up to it, kind of like Lord of the Rings.
- Set of 3-bank drop targets -- everyone loves these.
- Two spinners, one on the left that dumps you right into the pop bumpers.
- Captive ball mechanism.
- An insane shot to the left ramp through the pop bumpers.
The Premium and Limited Edition (500 made) versions contain some additional, fancy features which we don’t have pictures of yet… But here’s how Stern describes them:
Interactive sarcophagus ball lock.
- Motorized secret tomb entrance.
- Controlled middle pharaoh laser-cut metal ramp that raises to reveal the underworld scoop.
- Dual sensing Newton ball (This is pinball firmly mounted on the playfield that, when hit, transfers energy to a captive ball behind it).
- Two custom Eddie sculpts.
While the Limited Edition alone features the following:
- Exclusive mirrored backglass.
- Upgraded sound system featuring an improved speaker cabinet and high-quality JBL branded backbox speakers.
The MSRP for the Pro Model is $5,999, while the Premium Model will run you $7,599, and the Limited Edition Model a cool $8,999. Stern told IGN that they’ve already entered production for the Pro model of Iron Maiden with the LE to follow in April and the Premium after that, but you can order all three models now from dealers around the world.

Sarajevo in 1994 was a city under siege. Mortars and grenades rained down on the city, killing indiscriminately every day. Amongst the madness, would it be possible to persuade a global rock star to come and play a show for local fans?
Scream for Me Sarajevo is the amazing and astonishing story of the most unlikely of rock concerts, performed by Bruce Dickinson and his band Skunkworks in 1994, in the midst of the Siege of Sarajevo. This is a film about extraordinary people defying the horrors of war, and the musicians who risked their lives to play a show for them.
Featuring footage from the historic gig, the film also meets those that made it to the show and made the show happen; determined to keep living their lives despite the atrocities going on around them. Interviews with the band, crew and security bring home the reality of the situation that was not only dangerous, it was barbaric.
“We weren’t protected, there was no plan and the bullets were real, but fuck it, we went anyway” said Bruce in his recent best-selling autobiography What Does This Button Do?, “The gig was immense, intense and probably the biggest show in the world at that moment for the audience and for us. That the world didn’t really know didn’t matter. It changed the way I viewed life, death and other human beings”.
As well as the striking documentary, there will be an exclusive Q&A with Bruce Dickinson from London that will accompany the film in cinemas globally.

British rock legends IRON MAIDEN and independent family brewers ROBINSONS announce the creation of LIGHT BRIGADE, a unique golden English ale with a 4.1% ABV. It has been developed in support of HELP FOR HEROES, the British charity that provides recovery and support for the Armed Forces community whose lives are affected by their service. 6p of each pint and 5p of each bottle sold will be donated to help the thousands of Servicemen and women who live with complex wounds and injuries – both physical and mental – and are looking to regain their purpose in life.
HELP FOR HEROES met with ROBINSONS in the summer of 2017 to explore the possibility of launching a beer. ROBINSONS and IRON MAIDEN, who jointly launched TROOPER Beer almost five years ago and which has now sold over 20 million pints worldwide, were immediately enthusiastic about the idea. Indeed, the origin of TROOPER’s name, which comes from the classic IRON MAIDEN song, ‘The Trooper’, based on the Battle of Balaclava of 1854 in the Crimean War, reflects the band’s well-known interest in history.
As ever with the TROOPER range of beers, ROBINSONS’ Head Brewer, MARTYN WEEKS, and IRON MAIDEN lead vocalist and ale aficionado, BRUCE DICKINSON, teamed up to create the new and original beer, with the final tasting and approval taking place at HELP FOR HEROES’ Tedworth House Recovery Centre in Wiltshire, last Autumn.
LIGHT BRIGADE is designed as a session ale for beer and music fans everywhere. The concept for the Legacy Of The Beast World Tour was inspired by Maiden’s mobile game and comic book of the same name and the stage set design will feature a number of different but interlocking “worlds” with a set list covering a large selection of Eighties material with a handful of surprises from later albums to add diversity.
Maiden manager Rod Smallwood explains further,
“As our fans know, we’ve been following a particular touring cycle ever since Bruce and Adrian re-joined Maiden at the start of the millennium, alternating new album tours with “History/Hits” tours. We enjoy working this way for many reasons, not least because it gives the band a chance to play both new material and the older favourites which we know fans like to hear. It keeps things fresh, not just for the fans but for the band too.
“For this History/Hits tour we decided to base the theme around the Legacy Of The Beast name, which suits our purposes perfectly by giving us scope to get creative and have some fun, especially with Eddie! I don’t want to give too much away at the moment but we’re working on a number of different stage sets, all in keeping with the Maiden tradition and we hope to give our fans a fantastic experience when they come to see this very special show.”
Killswitch Engage will be Maiden’s Special Guest on headline European shows from May 26 to July 1 inclusive, and in the UK from July 31 to Aug 10 inclusive. Guests on other shows are currently being finalized and will be announced soon.

TWO YEARS IN THE MAKING, IRON MAIDEN LIVE ALBUM TO BE RELEASED ON NOVEMBER 17TH
Warner Music will release IRON MAIDEN’s ‘The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter’ on November 17th worldwide [through BMG in the USA]. This live recording comprises 15 songs captured during ‘The Book Of Souls World Tour’, which covered 39 countries across six continents during 2016 and 2017, and was seen by over two million fans. ‘The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter’ will be released physically in CD, deluxe CD & vinyl audio formats, with the concert film available to stream free online or as a digital download – full details below.
Produced by Tony Newton and Iron Maiden founder member and bass player Steve Harris, the album is based on this year’s set list and is a faithful record of the epic show, including six songs from ‘The Book Of Souls’, the band's most recent studio album, along with many other classics and fan favourites.
Steve comments, "We spent a huge amount of time working on this as I wanted to get it as close to the Maiden live experience as I possibly could and to represent our fans from different parts of the world. This meant listening to literally hours upon hours of tapes from every show, to select material and construct a sound that would run consistently across the whole album and capture the excitement of a new country like El Salvador alongside such regular favourites as Donington or Wacken.”
Maiden manager Rod Smallwood adds, "’The Book Of Souls World Tour’ was a huge undertaking, not least for Bruce who started the tour singing in public for the very first time since recovering from throat cancer. He also piloted Ed Force One, upgraded last year from a Boeing 757 to a 747 so we could go further and faster to visit some fantastic cities and fans all round the world. This year continued that excitement bringing us our most successful North American and UK tours ever. It was a very special tour in a great many ways so we felt we wanted to document it for both ourselves and for our fans. BMG will be reissuing Bruce's solo catalogue on vinyl worldwide on 27th October.
Bruce's six solo albums span from 1990 to 2005 and have been cut from the original masters for reissue on heavyweight, black 180g vinyl in artworked sleeves. Two of the titles ‘The Chemical Wedding’ and ‘Tyranny Of Souls are being made available for the first time ever on vinyl. The four previously available: ‘Tattooed Millionaire’, ‘Balls To Picasso’, ‘Skunkworks’ and ‘Accident Of Birth’ have been long out of print, with the latter two titles now expanded to double LPs for optimum sound.
As a special bonus, all six albums will also be available in a limited edition ‘Soloworks’ box, a must have for any collector.

As we let Eddie out of his cage for the final leg of The Book of Souls World tour, his digital doppelganger makes a debut in Legacy of the Beast.
The techno-bods over at Legacy of The Beast HQ have been working hard on an epic Mayan-themed battle arena, where your squad of characters can do battle with other players to climb the global leader-boards and claim unique in-game prizes.
The new arena is closely based on the TBOS stage set's ancient pyramids and stone statues, with the whole thing taking months to create. The Killer Krew would like to point out that they can knock the real deal up in a few hours, the LotB techies argue that their virtual version is faster to load-in and doesn't need a fleet of trucks to move it around. Settling this argument in a player-versus-player battle seems to be the only way to go…

It's #TShirtFriday and we're excited to reveal our 2017 UK tour shirt!
Maintaining the Maiden tradition of having some fun with our tour art, the UK shirt depicts Eddie aboard the 'Trooperbike', bombing down the motorway headed for the Isle of Man TT. Yes, he's moved on from the old Maiden England chopper and got (stolen!) himself something a bit sportier and faster!
In the real world, the Trooper Triumph by Smiths Racing will be campaigned on the roads by Peter Hickman at the Northwest 200 and the Ulster Grand Prix, as well as the TT. This is the third year that Trooper has been a sponsor, and the first time on a British bike. Previous outings have seen podiums for Hicky at the Northwest and the Ulster, with huge gnarly fingers crossed for more success this year.

Parlophone Records will follow 2014’s reissue of the first eight IRON MAIDEN albums, which spanned the 1980s, with twelve brand new pressings of albums from the period 1990-2015 in heavyweight 180g black vinyl.
Unlike the 1980’s reissues which were cut from the original analogue master tapes, the audio on these releases has been cut from the high resolution remasters of 2015 when the Maiden catalogue was digitally upgraded. They will be packaged in identical artwork to the initial vinyl releases.

The Collector’s Box will be a strictly limited edition and available while stocks last.
These high quality, black vinyls comprised of eight studio albums together with a specially selected choice of four live recordings from this period, completes the IRON MAIDEN album reissues series and offers Maiden fans the opportunity to own the band’s entire studio album legacy on vinyl simultaneously for the very first time.
IRON MAIDEN’s The Book Of Souls Tour resumes with a series of arena shows opening in Sportpalais, Antwerp, Belgium on 22nd April and continuing into Germany, UK and Ireland, finishing with two sold-out shows at London’s 02 arena on 27th & 28th May. The band then flies to the U.S.A for an extensive series of arena and amphitheatre shows including dates in Canada, ending with two nights in Brooklyn, New York on 21 & 22 July. Due to overwhelming demand, IRON MAIDEN have added a second night at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday July 22nd. Tickets go on sale Saturday February 25th at 10am EST via Ticketmaster.com
The extra date in Brooklyn on July 22nd will be the final chance for Maiden fans to witness The Book Of Souls Tour as it’s two year, round-the-world odyssey which began in February 2016 in Florida comes to a close. By which time, the band will have played 117 shows to well over 2 million fans in 36 countries, across six of the seven continents travelling well over 100,000 miles.
Tickets for the North American 26 date June/July second leg of The Books Of Souls Tour went on sale nationally a little over two weeks ago on Friday January 27th and were speedily snapped up by Maiden fans with well over 200,000 tickets being sold across the opening weekend alone. The Brooklyn show, the band’s first ever visit here, sold out rapidly with neighbours Philadelphia and Newark already close to sell-out too. There’s been particular fan frenzy in places the band has not played for many years such as Minneapolis which is already sold out with Oakland and Tampa the next to go.
To mark the very end of the tour Maiden have used their coveted city specific event shirt art upfront of the show. The art, by long time collaborator Herve Monjeaud, features Eddie playing havoc with the iconic Brooklyn Bridge amidst hordes of global Maiden fans arriving to witness the event.
Fanclub members will be given the option of an exclusive pre-sale for the 2nd Brooklyn date, along with the chance to enter in the draw to be First To The Barrier.

Prior to the North American tour the band play shows in Belgium, Germany , the UK and Ireland starting on Apr 22. As an update for fans, some tickets are still available for the second night in Oberhausen, Nottingham, Aberdeen, Sheffield, Manchester and Newcastle. All other European shows are completely sold out including the opening show at the massive Sportpalais in Antwerp, both Frankfurt shows, Dublin and both shows at the London O2.
The Book Of Souls is Maiden’s first ever double studio album and their most successful chart-wise to date, debuting at the No.1 spot in over 40 countries around the world and No.4 in the U.S.A.
Scream For Me Sarajevo is a documentary film about Sarajevo during the 1992-95 siege; specifically a film about the music scene in the besieged Bosnian capital with special focus on a concert held in the city's BKC music hall by Bruce Dickinson on December 14, 1994. It is a film about people who risked their lives to perform for the people who risked their lives in order to live them.
It was first screened to a select international audience during the Sarajevo Film Festival in August 2016 where the film picked up the Special Jury Award, the Human Rights Award and the Audience Award (scoring 4.98/5, the highest score ever awarded in the Film Festival's twenty-one year history).
